Water Plant Operator

The City of Union currently has a vacancy for the position of Water Operator C (minimum grade) at the Water Treatment Plant. Under general supervision, operates a water treatment plant, monitoring water daily in order to ensure safe, clean water for public use. Operates electrical and mechanical process equipment; performs electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance duties. Performs general plant cleaning, painting, and ground maintenance. Performs other related duties as required.

Requires a high school diploma with vocational/technical training in a related field and three years experience in operating a water filtration plant; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have a Grade C Water Treatment Certificate from the South Carolina Environmental Certification Board. Must obtain twelve hours of continuing education units every two years.

Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

The City of Georgetown is accepting applications for the position of Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to provide leadership and supervision and participate as required in the planning, installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of the City's water plant, wastewater plant and related facilities, and to perform other skilled and semi-skilled work as required. Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in electrical maintenance and repair, or a closely related field; must possess a valid state CDL driver's license; Possession of a Class A wastewater collection license Class A biological wastewater treatment operator's license is desirable. This position requires at least four years of experience in industrial electrical / pump maintenance and repair. Salary Range: $37,452 - $54,305.
